Whether you're a Jumbo or a Rhino, Tufts Dining has two great cashless options to purchase food and more around campus. Simply pay using your ID in the Mobile Order App or at a Tufts Dining Kiosk located in Kindlevan Café, Tower Café, or Hotung Café.
JumboCash
JumboCash is the easy, cashless way to pay for everything from meals and snacks to laundry, school supplies, printing, and more. With JumboCash you can use your Tufts ID as a debit card at locations across all four campuses, as well as at some participating off-campus locations including CVS in Davis Square.
Students can also benefit from discounted pricing. Save up to 7% on on-campus meals and 14% on campus laundry machines by using JumboCash instead of cash.
Opening and Managing Your JumboCash Account
JumboCash accounts are free to open and available to all students, faculty, and staff. Students are automatically enrolled and can immediately begin adding money to their accounts via the secure online portal. If you are a faculty or staff member, you can easily sign up for JumboCash by contacting the Tufts Dining Administration Office. It's quick and easy.
Once you've signed up for your JumboCash account, you can visit

Where to Use JumboCash
JumboCash is accepted at over 40 locations across all four campuses and off-campus, including:
- Most Tufts Dining locations (through Mobile or Kiosk ordering)
- Tufts Bookstore
- Dine-in or takeout at 28 off-campus restaurants, convenience stores, etc.
- Laundry and vending machines on the Medford/Somerville campus
- Printing/copying in campus libraries and computer labs

With your money carrying over from semester to semester, you don’t have to worry about your JumboCash expiring. If your Tufts ID card is ever lost or stolen, your account can be deactivated, making it safer and easier than cash!
Charge Your Student Account
Undergraduate students on a meal plan and all graduate students on the Medford/Somerville campus can also make deposits by authorizing charges to their student account from late August to early April. Students receiving financial aid can use available funds to purchase JumboCash.

Close Your JumboCash Account
Once deposited, JumboCash cannot be withdrawn unless you graduate from, permanently withdraw from, or terminate employment with the university.
Students may request to close their JumboCash account and receive credit for any remaining balance above $10 by the following deadlines:
- Graduating students (fall semester) —fall term Reading Period
- Graduating students (spring semester) — no later than the Friday before commencement
- All other qualifying students — spring term Reading Period
For graduating students, the amount credited will be determined by your JumboCash account balance on the Monday after commencement. Students on the Medford/Somerville campus will receive a credit via the Student Information System (SIS). Students on the Boston and Grafton campuses will receive a check, as will employees leaving the university.
To apply for a credit or funds refund, complete the Request for JumboCash Account Closure form and mail it, with a photocopy of your Tufts ID, to:

Rhino Bucks
Are you an SMFA student? Use your Rhino Card as a prepaid spending account with the Rhino Bucks program. In addition to on-campus use at the SMFA Café, you can use Rhino Bucks at more than 60 participating businesses in Boston that welcome Campus Cash. Look for the “Campus Cash Welcomed” sticker at participating locations or review the complete list online.

Meal Money
If you’re looking for a convenient, cashless way to plan and pay for food on campus, Meal Money is the way to go. Like JumboCash, Meal Money turns your Tufts ID into a debit card, but for food only. Meal Money is also allocated at times on holidays to eligible students when religious fasting or when our dining centers are closed.
Open a Meal Money Account or Purchase Meal Money
To open an account or purchase Meal Money, visit the Tufts Dining Administration Office weekdays, 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., with an initial purchase of $100.
After your initial deposit, Meal Money can be added to your account in increments of $25 or more.

Unused Meal Money
Any Meal Money you don't use during the fall term will roll over to the spring term. Please note that Meal Money left in your account at the end of the spring term will be forfeited. Extra Meal Money is non-refundable, so be sure to use your Meal Money before the end of the school year.
