Hodgdon Renovation

We’re pleased to announce that Hodgdon Food-on-the-Run will undergo renovations this year
to reduce congestion, improve cuing, and make the work spaces better for staff.

The work is expected to take about 20 weeks to complete. Hodgdon’s last day of service will be
Thursday, March 9 and remain off-line through the remainder of the semester.

A mini-Hodgdon will pop-up in the lobby of Dewick-MacPhie starting Monday, March 27 after
Spring Break. The Pop-up will offer a limited menu of popular items at breakfast, lunch and
dinner during the regular Hodgdon Hours. Access to the Pop-up will be by walk-in orders.
We know students love Hodgdon, we love it too! We are working hard to address the
disruption this may cause. Please see below for answers to many Hodgdon-related questions:

Renovation FAQs

  • The introduction of mobile ordering has changed the way we operate. This new modern
    layout will provide better flow through the space, create a renewed experience for our guests
    and make the work easier to accomplish for staff. Important building infrastructure will also be
    updated.

  • The Hodgdon work will take about 20 weeks. Our choices were a) start in the spring, or b)
    open in October. We believe the better choice is to start now so that it’s ready for the start of
    fall classes.

  • The floor plan will be open providing direct access to the food platforms. The Mobile Order pick-up area is right inside the front door. There is a mini-market area and a larger check out area.

  • Mini-Hodg, a limited service pop-up, will be open Monday through Thursday from 9am to 10pm, and Friday 9am to 4pm in the lobby of Dewick. A select menu of favorites, grab-and-go salads and sandwiches, snacks and beverages will be offered.

  • All current employees will be provided their same schedules to work in alternate locations.

  • Dewick was built for volume and has over 700 seats. We know it may get busy during peak periods, and the team is ready and excited to handle higher volume. And you are welcome to use a reusable green take-out container if you’d prefer to take your food to go.

     

  • Yes! The Carm team is ready to go. They are excited to welcome students that may not usually dine with them to enjoy the cozy, charming, ambiance of Fresh at Carmichael.

     

  • Construction on Hodgdon Food-on-the-Run will begin during spring break and will be completed in the Fall 2023. To prepare for construction, Hodgdon will close to students on March 10, 2023.

  • Kindlevan Café will undergo extensive renovations this Summer which will be completed in the Fall of 2023. There will be a dedicated mobile order pick up area, more service counter and better cuing. The staff will have a better area to work in, with more storage and better use of the kitchen.
