Food Allergies, Vegetarianism, and Gluten-Free

Food Allergies & Intolerances

At Tufts Dining, we take food allergies seriously. Food Allergies and Intolerances: Making Food Choices at Tufts Easier & Safer is a guide written to assist students in making appropriate choices at Tufts Dining. This guide contains useful information and tips specifically for how students with food allergies and intolerances can recognize food ingredients to avoid what they are allergic to and eat safely while at Tufts.

Vegetarianism

Students on a vegetarian or vegan diet will find a wide variety of options at Tufts. The Vegetarian and Vegan Options: A Guide to Dining at Tufts guide provides information on how to identify vegetarian and vegan choices. It includes vegetarian nutrition information and information on how to use the Food Facts Cards to easily identify vegetarian and vegan selections throughout campus and especially in the dining centers.

Gluten-free

At Tufts, we do our best to accommodate students who have special dietary needs, including those with Celiac Disease, who must avoid gluten. Dining with Celiac Disease – A Guide to Gluten-free Dining at Tufts is full of information on how to search for gluten-free choices in our database, how to identify gluten and hidden sources of gluten in dishes being served, and it describes where additional gluten-free food is stored. It’s a valuable resource created especially for gluten-free students at Tufts.

We work hard to accommodate students on special diets. If you have any questions or comments about our services, please contact Julie Lampie, Tufts Dining’s registered dietician. Email: Julie.lampie@tufts.edu Phone: 617-627-2833
